Richard's Finals Day Report
Picture

2019 Finals Day: Sunday 15th September  (it was sunny, but not too hot -  perfect bowling weather)

This year all three finals were very close, which made them even more interesting for the spectators - and the players.

First up in the morning was the Plate Final between Mike Gostick and Wendy Hill.  The spectator numbers were swelled by a sizeable and welcome number of Wendy's relatives. The game swung several times in favour of one or the other finalist.

In the end Wendy scored well on the last two ends to win the game.

In the afternoon was the Singles Final between Richard Johnstone & Johnny Ellis - another close game. From 18-19 down Johnny scored three shots to take the game.

We then retired to the clubhouse to enjoy tea & home-made cakes provided by Jean, and also Mike Gostick & Roger May - many thanks. The bar was busy - with people celebrating victories & drowning sorrows:-)

The Handicap Final had to be postponed, and was played on Tuesday afternoon between Andy Gardener & Richard Johnstone.
When the final end was started the score was 20-20 - you can't get closer than that! Richard managed to score the final shot to win.

I hope you all enjoyed the club competitions - I certainly did.

Cheers & looking forward to next season.
